Just off the heals of a report which claimed that Apple had responded to a recent motion made by Samsung, who was trying to gain access to unreleased iOS devices, wherein Apple responded by calling the motion an “attempt to harass”, the company has since strengthened it’s case against Samsung. Specifically, they have upped the assertions in the language of the suit, and have added a number of new Samsung device models to their list of patent-infringing products.
For what it’s worth, the new models added to the 15 original devices listed in the suit include: Droid Charge, Exhibit 4G, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Prevail, Galaxy S (i9000), Gravity, Infuse 4G, Nexus S 4G, Replenish, Sidekick, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Galaxy S II.
The main reason, at least to my mind, anyone is even paying attention to the suit, is that Samsung, is gearing up to be one of only a handful of companies capable of causing Apple trouble in the Mobile arena. Samsung has heavily backed the Android platform, and according to Apple has copied their “look and feel”. This will be interesting to watch unfold.
