Bloomberg is reporting what we’ve already heard before- The next-generation iPhone is coming this September, and Apple is indeed working on a high-resolution iPad model. The only benefit here, is that Bloomberg is a big-name news source, which even then, they can get stories wrong from time to time.
Anyway, the next-generation iPhone is said, as we’ve heard in other reports, to look much the same as the current iPhone 4 models, and to no one’s amazement, run iOS 5. Lastly, in regards to iPhone rumors, they claim that Apple is still working on a low-cost iPhone for developing countries.
The report also goes on to mention the iPad, and how the next-generation model will be equipped with high-resolution screen. Oddly, they claim that the screen will have a resolution “about one-third higher” than the iPad 2.
Everything sounds about right to me in this report, except for one thing- the iPad’s resolution. Apple will double the resolution from the current 1024X768 to a 2048X1536 display. Until they can economically do that, they won’t bump the resolution. The reason being that UI elements, when not scaled on a base of 2, will become anti-aliased, or what the rest of use call “blurry”.
