People who are now pirating music, will continue to do so.
So I think the iTunes match is a good thing.
If record companies still want to make some revenue, they should also go and get an agreement with GrooveShark, Spotify, Amazon, Google and other cloud music services.

With, I can’t wait! In fact I’m going through all my music deleting and cleaning up so when it moves to the cloud I get maximum benefit.

And what of stolen music? I have a lot of CDs in my closet to prove ownership of what i’ve ripped. Ok maybe I have a few albums I got some other way here or there. One important thing is once in the cloud with a good iCloud/iTunes base I will be more apt to just buy via iTunes than ever before.

This can only generate the labels more income. If someone wants to steal they will do it with or without match. Match, IMHO, only creates a place where people will be more likely to buy legit copies. THis is nothing but good for Apple, the labels, and the consumers.

If anyone wants to spark up a debate, look at the Google and Amazon services that allow anything and have no agreements with the labels.
