Digitimes is reporting that the next-generation iPhone, which is expected to be released this fall, will be equipped with dual LED flash units.
This, of course, will help to better illuminate the the subject being photographed. This news alone isn’t particularly exciting, but if you add in the fact that recent rumors have surfaced claiming that the flash on the next-generation iPhone has been relocated away from the camera sensor, a better, dare I say, picture begins to form.
So, Apple may not be relocating the flash after all (a guess on my part). That is, they may leave one flash unit where it’s currently located on the iPhone 4, and add a second unit further away on the new model. All of this just to emit more light on the photos you are taking. Apple’s attention to detail is at work. I just hope two flash units don’t wash out the color of the photos.
