MacRumors has consolidated a number of launch rumors for the upcoming MacBook Air refresh, all of which point to a mid-July launch timeframe. As we’ve heard, some claim that Apple is holding the release for the OS X Lion launch so they can ship the machines with Lion preinstalled, while other reports claim that Apple is just now ramping up production.
AppleNApps is now giving a very specific date for both the launch of OS X Lion, and the new MacBook Air on Tuesday, July 19th. On the other hand, 9to5Mac is reporting that they are hearing a launch date for both products on Thursday, July 14th.
So, expect both OS X Lion and the new Thunderbolt-equipped MacBook Airs to be released around the middle of the month. Personally I’m surprised at the Lion release dates. Usually when Apple gives a vague timeframe, such as a month, they’ll usually release the product in the last few days of said month.
