Don’t you love surveys of online users, and smartphone users, and just surveys in general really? I think they’re great fun. A good recent example is a survey done by the consumer electronics shopping and review site, Retrevo.com using one of the best survey apps – a ‘parenting and technology study’ done this month. It’s got some lovely and fascinating findings, like this one:
— Parents who don’t use iPhones have way less friends. They’re outcasts basically.
Well, that’s actually my spin on that one. The survey point reads like this:
iPhone owning parents are four times LESS likely to have under 50 Facebook friends.
Here’s another highlight from the study:
iPhone-owning Parents are nosy:
47% of parents of kids under 19 say they’ve used Facebook to learn more about their kid’s friends.
iParents are twice as likely to use Facebook to learn about their kid’s dates than Droid owning parents.
Looks like a tough call for any of you kids debating whether to buy mom and dad an iPhone. They’re going to use it to try to suss out what you’re up to in your life, but if you let them get a Droid they’re just not going to have any friends. ![]()
