AppleInsider is reporting that Apple may finally launch OS X Lion alongside refreshed MacBook Airs, this Wednesday, July 20th. Add this to the long line of rumors circulating around the release of both products, most of which have pin-pointed dates that have long-since come and gone.
Anyway, as we’ve all heard, the next-generation MacBook Air, was reportedly held back by Apple for the release of OS X Lion, so that the new machines could come with the new OS pre-installed. It’s also expected that the new MacBook Airs will be equipped with a minimum of 128GB of SSD storage and 4GB of RAM.
Other hardware refreshes have also been rumored, but I tend to give them less credibility simply because we haven’t heard as much about them in the weeks leading up to the Lion release. Plus, anytime there is a new hardware release rumor, people tend to glom on other hardware products that haven’t been refreshed in awhile as part of that speculation. And it boils down to be just that- speculation.
