Apple Offers OS X Up to Date Program for Recently Purchased Macs
Apple is now offering their traditional Up To Date Program for Lion, which allows customers who recently purchased a Mac to get a free copy of the new OS. A qualifying Mac would be one that was purchased after June 6th, 2011 and requests must be sent in by August 19th, or 30 days after the purchase of your Mac, whichever is later.
