Digaitimes is reporting that several Taiwanese companies have been selected by Apple to supply components for the next-generation iPad.
Digitimes goes on to list the companies involved, but more interestingly, Apple ready to components made from Taiwan-based manufactures because they are adjusting the pricing structure of the iPad to better compete with other products in the second half of 2011.
This boils down to one of two things: Either we will see the price of iPads drop, or we’ll see more feature-packed iPads at the same cost. I would be willing to bet the latter.
