Just a day or so after images leaked, claiming to be that of the design blueprints for the next-generation iPhone, more images have surfaced today (via 9to5Mac), reportedly of case designs based on those design images, so someone is taking them seriously.
If these cases are really intended for the next-generation iPhone, they portray a thinner design, as has been rumored by some outlets. The cases indicate a very similar layout for the next-generation iPhone, the biggest change being the movement of the mute switch to the opposite side, which would place it next to the rear-side camera. Also, the volume switch seems to be two, elongated buttons, much like the volume buttons four on the current iPod touch. It would not be out of place to assume the next-generation iPhone will favor the iPad 2 and current-generation iPod touch, seeing as Apple tends to tie the designs of their iOS products together.
This is the closest thing we’ve seen as proof that the next-generation iPhone will see a redesign of it’s enclosure. However, we’re still hearing conflicting reports as to whether Apple will maintain the current iPhone 4 design, or if it will see a a total redesign.
