Twitter user @chronic points to a parts reseller by the name of SW-Box.com, who is now offering for sale, what they claim i an iPhone 5 proximity light sensor flex cable.
MacRumors then took the find and asked iFixit’s Kyle Wiens about it. He notes that the iPhone 4 part holds the power button, proximity light sensors, and noise canceling mic. The purported iPhone 5 part does not contain a mic, which means it will be located in a new position on the next-generation iPhone.
This finding follows a few months behind the discovery of a purported iPhone 5 dock connector. So, with more and more parts, cases, and images being discovered in recent weeks, a fall release of the next-generation iPhone seems all but certain at this point.
