Apple Releases iOS 5 Beta 5, Turns on MobileMe to iCloud Migration for Developers

liosfive.jpgOver the weekend, Apple pushed out iOS 5 Beta 5 (build 9A5288d) to developers, along with Xcode 4.2 Developer Preview 5, iTunes 10.5 Beta 5, and Apple TV Software Beta 4.

However, the release notes state that users first wipe all the content from their device, using the “Erase All Content and Settings” feature in the Settings app. Before doing that however, Apple suggest that you make a backup with iTunes 10.5 Beta 4 or through iCloud. Lastly, this update appears to consist mostly minor bug fixes, with the biggest change (found so far) being the introduction of “Hearing Aid Mode” in Settings App. This mode is to help reduce interference between the device and hearing aids.

The update is 128MB in size as an over-the-air update.
