With all of the improvements to Safari in OS X lion, I’ve decided to put Google Chrome on the shelf for a bit and give Apple’s browser another shot. One of the tweaks that has made this switch possible has been the SafariOmniBar plug-in (available on GitHub), which combines the address bar and the search bar, just like in Google Chrome.
The result is a Safari top bar that looks a lot cleaner, and is also easier to use. All I need to do to access a bookmark, history item, or Google search is hit Command + L.
[a big thanks to Macgasm for the tip]
