It is currently believed that Apple will be rolling out two new iPhone models sometime around October. One of which will be the new, next-generation iPhone. The other is believed to be a new “iPhone 4S” model, which will serve the lower-end of the iPhone market much like the iPhone 3GS currently does, and closely resemble the current iPhone 4 both in aesthetic and function.

Today iPatchiPods and MacRumors have post images reportedly of the new “iPhone 4S”, which show differences in the frame design as compared to the iPhone 4. Specifically, the antenna rim has two breaks on either side of the device at the bottom. Currently the Verizon iPhone has two breaks at the top, so it would seem that Apple moved the breaks to accommodate both the AT&T (GSM) and Verizon (CDMA) network technologies. After all it’s believed that this new device will be capable of handling either network right out of the box. No more separate devices for separate carriers.

Several other things worth noting, is the fact that the volume buttons and the mute switch seem to both be located on the same side of the phone, just like the iPhone 4. We have seen in other case designs that the two might be separated. Additionally, the bottom piece has no indication of where a home button might go, which suggests Apple may be changing the Home Button design.
So it seems all but certain that Apple will be rolling out two “new” iPhones this fall. One of which will actually be all-new, while the other will be a modified iPhone 4, and act as its replacement in the iPhone hierarchy.
