Tried to sync my iPhone 4 over the weekend and my iMac and iTunes doesn’t recognize it. Tried everything that Apple support site recommended but nothing worked. Tried connecting to three other computers and it still doesn’t work. So I restore the phone and now I have nothing unless I sync it with iTunes, which is my problem to start. I have a Genius Bar appointment this weekend at the closest Apple Store (three hours away) and I hope I don’t have to pay $199 to replace it because I am out of warranty also (not to count another $100 or so for travels). I have taken great care of this phone and I have done nothing to cause this. I am just bummed & worried about the situation right now. Hopefully I’ll have the same experience as you did.

I dont like the hardware
I love the camera.app b/c it “always’ gets a clear picture of my kids in motion, and that’s the software.
The rest of it, I can get equal or equivalent on Android.

Its not the customer service… in Toronto, there are a 4 Apple Stores within 30 minutes drive of me. 2 of them have pathetic customer service, very snide and rude, and accusatory. The other 2 are great. But because of the 50% ‘good’ customer service, I can’t say its the customer service.

I’ve also lived in other places (in the US) where there were multiple stores in the State… and in the end, 1 of the stores 5 hours away from me honored the warranty (and in the instance of my laptop, the recall)… the ones closer to me woudl not.

But… its a better warranty with a store front (not a voice at the end of the phone) for me to deal with…. that’s why I stay on Apple devices.

Every now and then like to buy a used iPhone for experimentation purposes and have Never experienced a problem getting these iPhone’s replaced. Some of which I might add had broken screens!! I not only love Apple products because of their durability and elegance, but because they really stand behind their products and customer service!!

But for all the reasons you states I know I’ll stay apple. Customer service is outstanding. I need my phone and I know or the time being one company understands that. A product should last. And they do.
