Earlier this year, white components surfaced, purportedly to be used with a white, fifth-generation iPod touch later this year. Macotakara is now reporting that a white headphone jack has surfaced, which is reportedly destined to be used in the manufacturing of a white iPod touch models. The part surfaced from Luna Commerce, a Chinese repair site, and features a tapered design, which would work perfectly with an iPod touch with similar tapered edges.
If this sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because similar headphone jacks, both in black and white, destined for the forthcoming “iPhone 4S” or “iPhone 5”, surfaced just last month.
To be honest, this could mean a lot, or it could mean nothing. Apple tends to match the headphone jack color to the color of the device’s faceplate. That’s the only reason this component is believed to be used in a white iPod touch design. I suppose we’ll see in the next few weeks.
