Apple Backtracks, Begins Selling Previous Version of Final Cut Pro

639275.jpgAfter letting the PR crisis cool down, surrounding the radical new version of Final Cut Pro that was released earlier in the summer, Apple has now selling the previous version of Final Cut Pro Studio.

Apple will be selling the suite at the former $999 price tag, and $899 for educational institutions. It will only be available for retail through Apple’s 800-My-APPLE number. You will not be able to purchase it through their retail stores, or online store.

Of course, Final Cut Pro X was a radical reworking of the concept of video editing, but professionals gave it mixed reviews. Some felt it was too similar to iMovie in both function and form, while others embraced it’s new streamlined workflow. What aggravated people the most, was the abrupt end to legacy version of Final Cut Studio, which made the transition to the new software more difficult than it needed to be.
