Pocketnow.com is reporting that they have found an image that could have been taken with Apple’s forthcoming next-generation iPhone. The photo itself carried a EXIF data that stated the photo was taken with an iPhone 4. However, instead of being a 5-megapixel photo (as would be indicative of the iPhone 4’s 5-megapixel camera) the photo is 8-megapixel in resolution.
Just to further drive home the story, they claim that the photo was taken by an Apple engineer while on his lunch break. It’s also worth noting that the next-generation iPhone is expected to be equipped with an 8-megapixel camera.
This bit of news would fit if previous rumors are to be believed. That said, the reports surrounding Apple’s next-generation iPhone offerings are a twisted rats nest of information. So, we’ll see when the new iPhone is introduced. It seems likely that Apple will introduce an 8-megapixel camera in the new iPhone.
