Foxconn Rumored to be Producing 150,000 iPhone 5 Units a Day

iphone-4-low-signal.jpgDigiTimes is reporting that Apple’s suppliers, and their manufacturer, Foxconn are speeding up production and are currently producing 150,000 next-generation iPhone units a day.

The report goes on to say that Apple is set to ship 5-6 million units for this month, and ultimately shipping 22 million units by the end of the year. The report also mentions that Pegatron is set to manufacture 15% of Apple’s total orders, but they won’t begin their production run until 2012.

Also worth noting, is the fact that report makes no delineation between the “iPhone 5” and the “iPhone 4S”. From their point of view their might just be one new device headed for production. On the other hand, we’ve heard reports that Apple will be replacing the iPhone 3GS with a new “iPhone 4S”, and replacing the iPhone 4 with the iPhone 5. Nonetheless, if this report is true, Apple gearing up to ship a lot of iPhones this fall.
