1Password – my favorite and essential password manager app on the Mac and iOS – is now in the Mac App Store.
Having a good password manager app is a must these days, and if you use a Mac and / or iOS devices there’s none better than 1Password.
Although it may prove controversial among some users I think it’s good to see 1Password in the Mac App Store. And I think AgileBits, the developers of the app, are being more than fair in the transition of the app to the Mac App Store – especially given the constraints put in place by Apple. They are offering the app at half price – $19.99 – so that existing customers can get on board and be eligible for an upcoming update to version 4.0. I was happy to pay that today for a great app and new 3.9 version of it built specially for OS X Lion.
And that’s another important point to be aware of – the 3.9 version in the Mac App Store is a Lion only version – but Version 3.8 is still available via the AgileBits website.
