
Apple took their online store down for awhile while we all were fast asleep, and made some layout changes. The biggest change is the iPad model selection page. Previously, Apple had simply displayed all 18 models (color/storage/carrier combinations) on a single page. Now it’s a little more streamlined for the customers.
Now Apple has broken down the selection process into steps. Firs you chose the color iPad 2 you would like, then the storage capacity, and if the user wants 3G or not. If the customer does select a 3G model, they are taken to a third step to decide which cellular carrier they would like.
Of course, this cuts down on both clutter and customer confusion, by streamlining the areas wherein a problem could occur. Apple also replaced it’s “ships within 24 hours” estimate, with a indicator that simply states if a particular model is in stock.
