It is being reported that China Telecom is preparing for the next-generation iPhone launch by training staff, and is beginning advertising, with the expectation of taking pre-orders by the end of this month.
Official sales will begin next month, while China Telecom is devoting $234.5 million USD to the marketing of the device. They’re calling this initiative the “Dragon Plan”.
This is particularly interesting considering that Apple is only currently partnered with China Unicom, while China Telecom and China Mobile are biting at the bit to get in. It would seem that Apple and China Telecom have a deal in place, and is simply awaiting the introduction like the rest of us.
