iCloud Backups To Be Reset on September 22nd, GM of iOS 5 Likely Not Far Behind

liosfive.jpg9to5Mac has pointed out that Apple has posted an announcement on their developer site noting that the company will be reseting all iCloud backup data on September 22nd, 2011. Apple’s warning simply states that backups to iCloud will not be available from 9AM-5PM on Thursday, and restoring from a backup prior to the 22nd simply won’t happen.

This wouldn’t be particularly exciting news if it wasn’t for recent rumors suggesting that Friday, September 23rd, would be the day that Apple issues a Gold Master build of iOS 5 to developers, pushing us one step closer to a public release. It’s also worth remembering that Apple has issued 7 deferent iOS 5 betas to developers, in conjunction with access to iCloud for testing purposes. The two were announced in June at the company’s World Wide Developers Conference.
