BGR is reporting on a research note by Brian Blair of Wedge Partners who is claiming that Apple will only be introducing the “iPhone 4S” at their rumored October 4th media event. This contradicts other recent reports, even some that we heard today, that claim there will be two new iPhones introduced next month.
The report also repeats what we’ve been hearing about the iPhone 4S, in that it will be equipped with iOS 5, an 8MP camera, and an A5 processor. They also don’t rule out the possibility of a larger 4-inch screen.
When you take into account the complete lack of leaked parts, and the fact that we’ve heard nothing more than hearsay regarding a redesigned iPhone 5, what this report claims seems ever more likely as we move closer to the October introduction. But, as it goes, it seems that this iPhone 4S, either accompanied by a redesigned iPhone 5, or as a standalone replacement, is a pretty safe bet.
