Report Claims iPhone Media Event Slated for October 4th

AllThingsD is reporting that Apple will be holding their iPhone media event, on October 4th, to introduce the new model. The always-well-connected Jim Dalrymple of The Loop confirms the report with a simple “Yep.”

The report goes on to note that CEO Tim Cook will likely play a big role in the presentation in an effort to present himself as the new boss. That said, it is expected that a team presentation, with others like Phil Schiller, Scott Forstall and Eddy Cue explaining the different aspects of the device.

Of course, it’s also likely that Apple will update their iPod line at the event. Plus, it’s being reported that Steve Jobs may make an appearance, but that decision will be made at the last minute, based on how he is feeling.
