Just yesterday a report surfaced claiming that Apple has already entered a tweaked iPhone 4, and new iPod touch models to their internal inventory database. A new report now claims that Apple has also added the “iPhone 4S” with the N94 designation to their system.
The new 9to5Mac report claims that N94 iPhone carries a model number of MD234. This fits nicely with a photo that leaked yesterday of a reported label belonging to a 16GB White iPhone 4S. This is the lower-end device, and carries a MD239 model number. The label also references GSM (IMEI number) and CDMA (MEID number) networks, which suggests this will indeed be a world phone capable of handling both major network types.
The report goes on to note that the iPod touch line of devices may see a price drop in international markets at next week’s announcement. It’s not known whether the line will see a price drop in the US, because it’s unknown why Apple is lowering the prices overseas. It could be adjustments made for currency fluctuations. It may be a genuine price cut. We’ll see.
Lastly, there is no sign of a redesigned “iPhone 5” in the system. So, it looks more and more likely that next week’s iPhone will be a minor update.
