iPhone 4S Unveiled – Launch Date Is October 14, Prices Start at $199

The waiting is over. Apple announced the new iPhone 4S today. Here are some of the basic details on its launch date and pricing:

— It will be released on October 14 (next Friday) in the US – and in Canada, the UK, Australia, France, Germany and Japan.

— Pre-orders begin on October 7 – this Friday.

— Prices are: $199 for a 16GB model, $299 for a 32GB model, and $399 for the big new 64GB model. All should be available in black and white it seems.

— Sprint was mentioned as one of the carriers. I can’t pull up the apple.com site just now, O I’m assuming this means it will be available on AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon at launch.
