
Missed in the news yesterday, Apple has released a new iOS application called AirPort Utility, which allows users to control and setup Apple’s Airport Extreme, AirPort Express, and Time Capsule base stations without the need of a traditional computer.
Oddly, Apple had originally included AirPort Utility directly into iOS 5, but decided to split the functionality into a separate app for the final release. Users will be shown an option to download Airport Utility when they enter the Wi-Fi section of the Settings app in iOS 5. Needless to day, AirPort Utility requires iOS 5, and will work on the iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone.
