With the iPhone 4S Apple added Sprint to the list U.S. carriers who support the iPhone. Today, it’s been announced by C Spire Wireless, a regional carrier, will now also be carrying the new iPhone 4S.
C Spire Wireless, formerly known as Cellular South, is the U.S.’s largest private telecommunications provider. Although they don’t have the customer base of AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint, they still have 875,000 subscribers. Besides, this move indicates a willingness on Apple’s part to open up the iPhone to smaller carriers in an effort to garner more marketshare.
C Spire Wireless is based in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and mainly covers the Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida Panhandle, with additional operations in Memphis Tennessee, and Rome, Georgia.
Apple got the price down on the device, now their going for marketshare.
