9to5Mac is reporting that Apple is set to release new MacBook Pros next week. These new computers would remain at the same price points as the current-generation MacBook Pro, as the part numbers that recently surfaced suggest only a minor update.
As for the processors, Apple recently released Quad Core i7 running at 2.4GHz, 2.5GHz, and 2.7GHz, with an additional Dual Core i& running at 2.8GHz. Apple can’t use the 2.7GHz model because of power and heat constraints of the MacBook Pro’s enclosure.
Little else is known, or at least divulged, regarding these new machines, and I suppose we’ll see if this report is true next week. Lastly, I find it odd, but not unprecedented for Apple to release a product revision so late into the holiday shopping season, and especially on a product line that updated earlier in the year.
