A report from the New York Times claims that Apple is indeed working on a television set, as has been rumored for some time. The report further claims that the TV would be powered by voice, with the help of Siri, the new voice-feature introduced with iPhone 4S. They also claim that the TV would be introduced at the end of next year, with availability to consumers in 2013.

The report goes on to note that the project has likely been in the works for years, possibly as far back as 2007 when Apple rolled out the Apple TV Set-top box and original iPhone. Also, the report goes on to suggest that the Television set really is coming, but a lot of work remains. Specifically, the exterior design of the TV.

Nick Bilton, the author of the report sincerely believes that the product is in the pipeline, and as he phrases it as “not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.” So there’s that.
