Gmail Official App Back in the App Store Now

Gmail’s back in the App Store. The official Gmail native app for iPhone and iPad that is.

The Gmail app originally hit the App Store, briefly, back on November 2. It was rapidly pulled though due to problems with notifications and app startup errors relating to those. It was an inauspicious launch to say the least.

The updated version of Gmail is 1.0.2 and comes with this advice for those who installed the original release:

If you already have the Gmail app 1.0.1 released on 2 Nov, you will need to uninstall or log out of the old app prior to installing the new app.

I’ve removed the old version and installed the new just a short while ago. This time round I don’t get any startup errors relating to notifications and the app shows up properly under Settings > Notifications – so hopefully Google have got those issues under control now.
