The folks at iFixit, the company known for tearing down Apple’s latest gadgets and letting us all know what’s inside, have released a new product of their own – a transparent back panel for the iPhone 4S.
iFixit will be selling this new panel in a kit complete with the tools needed to open up the device, a screen protector, and something they call a “Thirsty bag” which absorbs moisture if your iPhone has water damage. The whole kit they claim is worth $50, but they are selling the package at an introductory price of $29.95.

I’ve alway though that iFixit does good work. They let all of us know what is in our devices, while also giving us a ways to fix them, if say, they happen to be out of warranty. Which reminds me, if you open up your iPhone 4S and replace the panel, you will be voiding your warranty. Tread carefully. It certainly looks cool, and might be worth the risk.
