I know that on console launches and things stuff can start out slow, but come on, this is a smartphone..They are outdated in a few months time. More content should have been ready at launch. That being said, it is the best phone in the entire world for me. Running emulators and retro games IS the main event for me, and a lot of others like me. There are countless games I have purchased, but not had time to play over the years on various systems and now I can with actual game system controls while I’m waiting in the DMV, on the bus, on my lunch break, etc. It is a dream come true. The phone itself is phenomenal, the Xperia game launcher and associated titles? Kinda meh.

@Jim
do share a little more with us. What is the Xperia Play supposed to do, and what’s your argument for how it achieves its goals? Are you really happy with throwing good hardware controls onto an Android phone and then playind PSX ports and optimized Android games?

The review says nothing particularly negative about the *phone* part – just that the PlayStation moniker is undeserved.
