Apple Issues Apple TV Software Update 4.4.4, Adjust iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S

162257-apple_tv_black.jpgApple has released update 4.4.4 (Build 9A406a) for the Apple TV. The update addresses general stability and performance issues, including an error when select videos were played.

In other update news, Apple has quietly tweaked their release of iOS 5.0.1 for the iPhone 4S. They are not requiring customers who have already downloaded the update to take any further action, but for new customers, they will be receiving this new version from here going forward.

This automatically suggests that whatever Apple changed, is very minor, and could be folded into future updates that will go to all devices later on. Some have postulated that this tweak could be related to today’s international release of iTunes Match. Who knows.
