I wanted an iPad2 when they were released, but discovered all the chatter on the light-bleeding screens, so bided my time — six months — for them to fix it. Finally in October it seemed safe to put it on my Christmas list. I was jazzed all the way to Christmas Eve when my sister texted my that the iPad3 may be out on Steve Job’s birthday in February — two months from now.

That completely wrecked Christmas for me, since I’ll be damned if I’m paying for (I buy all the Christmas presents in our family ultimately) a device that is going to be a significant generation old in 2 months. So Christmas sucked for me (since I have to spend time tomorrow returning it, and I’ll be I won’t be alone — I didn’t even want to unwrap it, but was forced to), and for my wife who got me exactly what I asked for.

My bad — I forgot about the release schedule. Jonathan is right. It would have been a much happier Christmas if I had received a *picture* of an iPad with a coupon good for the iPad3 upon release.
