Report Claims Apple Suppliers Prepping 32 and 37-inch Apple Television Sets for Early 2012

DigiTimes is reporting that Apple’s suppliers are in the process of preparing materials for a production run of 32 and 37-inch Apple Televisions sets in the first quarter of 2012. The company then plans to launch the new television sets sometime later on in 2012, likely in the second or third calendar quarter.

The report notes that these Apple television sets will likely have the same functionality as the company’s Apple TV set-top boxes, however the company will likely be introducing a new version of the Apple TV sometime next year as well.

Of course there have been rumors surrounding Apple’s efforts in the television market for some time now. Only after it was reported in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs that Jobs himself “finally cracked” the problem surrounding television interfaces, was any real attention paid to the subject. Rumors have since suggested that Apple will be rolling out a television set complete with Siri voice navigation and AI sometime by 2013. We’ll see.
