Report Elaborates on Rumors Surrounding Apple’s Rumored Television Set

USA Today has posted a story looking at the effects that Apple television set rumors are having on upcoming announcements expected to be made at the Consumer Electronics Show this month. It seems that companies already in the television set business are preparing for an announcement from Apple by creating products of their own.

In fact, Apple would-be competitors are anticipating Apple’s announcement that Microsoft’s general manager of content acquisition was quoted saying “We do not discount what they are going to do in the space — they are going to come on strong.” So there’s that.

The report goes on to note that, as other rumors have already stated, that Apple is creating a 42-inch model, with Apple’s head of design Jony Ive storing a 50-inch model in a locked-down design studio on Apple’s campus. Remember, some reports have pegged Apple’s model ranges from 32-37″, while reports, including this one, have noted that Apple is working on 40-55″ screen sizes.

USA Today further kitchen-sinks the rumor by noting the new Apple television set would will be voice-powered with Siri technology, support App Store apps, and include iCloud technology, all while struggling to figure out a way to break the current cable TV model.
