Verizon’s Chief Financial Officer, Fran Shammo, has announced during today’s Global Entertainment, Media & Communications Conference (hosted by Citi) noted that iPhone sales through that company, were a nice 4.2 million units in Q4 of 2011.
That is more than double the previous quarters 2.0 million iPhone unit sales. That is the same quarter in which Apple sold more than 17 million iPhones total. Of course, it’s worth noting that Apple will be rolling out the iPhone 4S in 22 more countries on January 13th, one which will be China, one of Apple’s largest markets. So there is no doubt that the iPhone still has plenty of momentum.
