I often like to keep a bit of background music on while I read on my iPhone or iPad, but there’s been a strange bug lately that stops any audio playback on my devices the moment I load up iBooks. I don’t seem to be the only one who has noticed this either, if this thread on iPadForums.net is any indication.
I’m guessing the bug is related to one of the last major updates to iBooks, which added audio/video support to the app, but it’s still jarring – especially since none of my e-books have any sort of multimedia in them. I can always resume where the song left off via the multitasking bar, but here’s hoping Apple releases a quick fix next time an iBooks update comes around.
