These parts seem to include the rear shell, and front glass bezel of the forthcoming device.

The report notes that the case for this new iPad, is ever-so-slightly thicker than the iPad 2’s casing. In fact, the noted that the change is almost imperceptible, and wan’t noticed when looking at the device for the first time.

Additionally, they report that the camera hole on the casing for the new iPad, noticeably larger than the one on the iPad 2, and appeared very similar to the camera lens seen on the iPhone 4S. The report also notes that all external features seem to be in the same place as the iPad 2.

Lastly, the report claims that these parts were manufactured at least six months ago, and thus, may not represent the final look and feel of the the next-generation iPad. Which could be called the iPad 3, or some derivative of the iPad 2 name.

As much as I hate to admit it, it seems that the next-generation iPad will indeed be thicker. However, these are very early components, and in six months time, Apple could have shaved off an extra millimeter of thickness from the device’s profile.
