If you’ve been looking for a clever mouse-driven window manager on the Mac, Cinch is it. $7 on the Mac App Store will net you the ability to take an app window (say, Mail, Safari, or Adium), drag it to the side of the screen, and have it auto-resize itself. Dragging to the top maximizes windows, à la the Windows 7 operating system. Dragging to the left and right will make the respective window take up exactly half of your screen width.
Cinch is a brilliant little app: it stays nicely out of the way in the menu bar, its gestures make a lot of sense (especially for folks who also use Windows 7), and it has saved me a lot of hassle as I try to manage windows on my 13″ MacBook Pro screen. Highly recommended, this one.
