OOTP 13, the next release in the highly successful and award winning baseball simulation series, is now available for pre-order. Everyone that pre-orders will receive the game three days before its official release.
Act before Feb. 15 and you’ll save $5 and be entered in a drawing: three people will each win a $100 gift card to either iTunes or Amazon and one grand prize winner will win their choice of a 32GB iPod Touch or a $250 gift card to either store.
OOTP 13 aims to once again please the hardcore baseball purist with its ultra-realistic baseball sim manager. Those worried that the game couldn’t possibly get any better or more realistic might want to reconsider.
Real-time simulation mode adds an alive feel to the game. As you click about the various screens to manage your ball club, you will see real-time updates. No longer will have you have to end the day to see results as they will be happening in the background, complete with a score and highlight ticker at the bottom of the screen.
Interactive storylines will add yet another layer of realism to this already insanely deep series. As the owner/manager/everything of your team, you might find yourself having to deal with how to handle your franchise pitcher who has just express his unhappiness to the media. Do you fine him to gain the respect of the rest of the team? Or do you do nothing so you don’t upset the cornerstone of your franchise? That’s for you to decide.
As you would expect, OOTP is including all of the new changes in the latest labor agreement, including more wild card teams, Houston’s move beginning with the 2013 season, and more.
OOTP is also delivering a brand-new interface, which will be a welcome change for those who found the old design a little too detailed, and several other core engine improvements.
OOTP 13 will release in early April for the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms for $39.99.
