Final Cut Pro X Updated, Multicam Support, Advanced Chroma Keying, XML Support

It was a total redesign of the Final Cut Pro video editing software. Some pro users disliked the redesign, but especially disliked the number of dropped features in the new release, such as XML and Multicam support.

Well, today Apple has released Final Cut Pro X 10.0.3, which brings multicam and XML support, along with advanced chroma keying. These are some of the major features that were demanded by users after it was discovered that they were missing from Final Cut Pro X.

The update can be acquired through the Mac App Store, along Motion and Compressor, which were also updated today. Motion seeing an update which improves the speed of text editing, the ability to add animation keyframe, and other minor tweaks. The Compressor update offers minor enhancements such as improved speed in transiting from Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 to ProRes. These are free updates to paid customers.

This, to my mind, proves that Apple will listen to their customers. However, it amazed me that the company made such a misstep in the first place, and neglected to include these features. Serious features that are needed by professional customers. It was either an amazing oversight or a foolish feature cut.
