Read Later Puts Instapaper and Read It Later On Your Mac

Read Later is a free Mac app that accesses your Instapaper and Read It Later (RIL) accounts so that you can get reading done outside of your desktop browser in a distraction-free environment. Accessing your Instapaper account through this app will require a paid Instapaper subscription, though.

Read Later looks interesting because it’s the first app of its kind that I’ve heard of, but it’s not a must, as both RIL and Instapaper feature web interfaces. However, the app could prove useful for those times where you’d like to hoard your articles for extended offline reading.

I’m still not a fan of the name, though. Read Later just seems far too generic and is too easily confused with the base service offered by both Instapaper and RIL.
