They have great design, but their engineering is substandard much of the time. I have a MacBook “Pro” from the same era and it’s got the same problems. Infuriating because I specifically asked them at the store if Apple supports installing third party hard drives before I bought it. However, after finding the SATA II problem, they wash their hands of the problem and say they don’t support installing third party hard drives. Funny, because the manual shows you how to do it…
