Grooveshark Mobile Beta Updated With Queues

 

The Grooveshark web app has been updated to include temporary playlists, which means that you can now use the free music streaming service to queue up several songs in a row. The new queuing interface along the bottom of the screen can also show album art, as well as the song timeline.

This is the first major update I’ve noticed in the web app in the months since its release, and while it beats searching and playing songs one at a time, the queueing functionality still doesn’t work quite as expected. The playlist that you create won’t advance to the next track automatically unless you have Safari open and Grooveshark as the active tab.

However, for users who use YouTube to show off songs to friends, html5.grooveshark.com could prove to be a much more convenient solution. Unlike the YouTube app, Grooveshark can play music in the background and with the screen off, so it’s a lot more flexible (and music quality is usually quite good).
