Have a Dropbox account?  You might want to change your password ASAP–here’s why…

A recent thread on the popular social site Reddit offered up actual Dropbox usernames and passwords, citing an additional  7 million+ accounts that have also been compromised. Dropbox says that their site was not hacked, though, and that the passwords were stolen from a third party service…

Dropbox has not been hacked. These usernames and passwords were unfortunately stolen from other services and used in attempts to log in to Dropbox accounts. We’d previously detected these attacks and the vast majority of the passwords posted have been expired for some time now. All other remaining passwords have been expired as well.

Dropbox is reportedly sending out password reset instructions to potentially affected users. In addition, they are advising all of their users to change their passwords and enable two-factor authentication at the same time.
