How to customize you iPhone app-switcher in iOS 8

In iOS 8 the app-switcher finally received some overdue attention.  In addition to being able to view your current open apps, now when you double-click the home-button and the app-switcher is activated, you will also see your favorite contacts, as well as the most recently viewed/interacted with contacts.

Turns out, the app-switcher is customizable.  Here’s how you can set it up the way you want.

Open Settings–>Mail, Contacts, Calendars–>Show in App Switcher.  Now you can toggle “Phone Favorites” and “Recents” off or on.
