With the addition of Handoff in OS X Yosemite, there has never been a better time to be fully integrated into the Apple ecosystem. There are may benefits from a shared relationship between iPhones, iPad’s and Mac’s. However, none are more important and useful than these four features.
Change devices, pick up where you left off
Start work on one device, and pick up where you left off on another. AS long as your iPhone, iPad or Mac are near each other they can automatically “Handoff” open tasks to one-another. Start an email on your iPhone and decide to switch to your Mac? No problem–now you can continue that email message right on your Mac.
System integration
You can use Handoff with all your shared, stock Apple apps–including Calendars, Notes, Messages, Maps, Safari, Reminders, and the whole iWork suite of Keynote, Pages and Numbers.
iPhone or iPad to Mac or Mac to iPhone or iPad
Handoff works just as well from your iOS device (iPhone or iPad) to your Mac as it does in the opposite direction from your Mac to your iPhone or iPad..
App to website
Handoff can also work between the Safari browser and iOS apps in Yosemite. This means that now you can start a task using apps on your iPhone and then continue on the app’s website in Safari on your Mac.
